13:08 Uhr von Michael StarkeRuby? Maybe!

We are currently investigating, wheter we should change our small (and let me say sort of hacky) website to a more convenient ruby cms called radiant. There are some ups and downs, and personally, as much as i like ruby – it’s pretty neat – i sort of like the i-did-all-by-myself-in-python way too.

Well, so stay tuned for changes to come (there are going to be changes! Whethers it’s Ruby or not ;)

21:03 Uhr von Michael StarkeDevelopers, Developers, Developers...

As a big man at Microsoft once said, or should I say shouted =). And I’m not talking about the little dance, he included. Enough with the fun, we are in the process of developing an IDE for JavaScript. Not just a little text editor thing, with syntax highlighting and a bit of snippets here and some completion there, no – complete IDE. Code completion, suggestion, correction, error tracking, well, everthing nice, an IDE give you.

We are expecting a big benefit in developing JavaScript (as in hyperGUI) and thus aim to get a much better workflow and easier product creation with this improved tool chain.

22:51 Uhr von Maik LathanhyperGUI Demo – The Web 2.0 GUI-Framework

Dresden, 10th of July, 2007 – HicknHack Software, a developer team for web applications, released the first public online demo of their hyperGUI-Framework for testing purpose.

hyperGUI (www.hypergui.com) is a JavaScript Framework to develop graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for webbrowser easily. It builds upon Web2.0 and AJAX technology.

“With a unique mechanism we can get pixel correct layout in every web browser” says Andreas Reischuck, a cofounder of HicknHack Software. “With other Web 2.0 applications you always get the feeling of still being on a web page hyperGui on the other hand feels like a native desktop application” adds Maik Lathan, developer at HicknHack Software.

The features of hyperGUI:

  • Complete set of GUI Elements
  • GUI runs completely inside the web browser
  • Web browser independent layout mechanism
  • Extendable 3-Tier architecture
  • Big JavaScript code library
  • Easy prototyping
  • Integrated localization

People are encouraged to report any bugs or errors in the online demo to HicknHack Software. “We’ve got big plans, but not enough resources and manpower” states Michael Starke, the designer at HicknHack Software. The team is searching for passionate developers who can help make their visions become reality. Additionally it’s possible for other companies developing similar projects to consult the team around Andreas Reischuck. Requests can be made through the contact page.

23:41 Uhr von Michael StarkeA Sign of Live...

We are still here, but it seem’s a bit quiet. Well it IS a bit quiet due to the fact, that we are quite busy with our lives, studies and work so the development of the framework slowed down a bit. But don’t panic, as the hitchhicker’s guide states, we’re still alive an kickin’

Stay clean and keep rockin’

06:44 Uhr von Michael StarkeFinally...

After a last very long night (I stopped counting the days i got in bed past 6.00am) we managed to update the website. New features like the Blog Comments or the Demo Lab have arrived. We also did some restructuring and the biggest change is the different start page.

There are still some things need to be polished but overall it’s a good page upgrade.

Hopefully everyone likes the new content.

20:51 Uhr von Michael StarkeApologies

What can i say – tons of work to be done, so the updates on this website are a bit slow to put it in a nice way. It’s not that we’re not working anymore, quite the opposite is the case.

And university has it’s amount of time demanding, too. Well then, things will get moving soon, the OntologyEditor demo is ready, but just needs to be deployed and fully documented (We don’t want to show it without proper doc).

20:39 Uhr von Maik LathanJust more ad support for hyperGUI

Some time ago our designer made a beautiful flyer for hyperGUI. If you want to support us you can get the flyer and hand it to people who should know from hyperGUI.

During the next days the flyer will be available for download. Just to give you a sneak peak on how it looks like we attached an image.

Ontology editor demo is on it’s way :). Go back to work…

19:00 Uhr von Michael StarkeA Happy New Year - hopefully =)

Well then, 12 days passed and we’re already heating up again. Relax time over – the holidays are over, and we are making good progress. The Demo section to showcast some of the potential of hyperGUI is in the works and will be available soon.

So stay tuned and make the most out of 2007, we surely will ;)
